SUMAI uses personal information to operate renovation discovery, matching and partner services. We aim to collect only what is reasonably needed for those purposes.
Information we collect
Information may include contact details, renovation requirements, property and budget information, partner company details, account information, project submissions, service activity and technical information needed to operate and secure the Site.
How homeowner matching works
When you submit a renovation brief and give contact-sharing consent, SUMAI may shortlist up to three suitable interior firms for that request. We identify a matched firm to you before that firm can access your contact details. Your contact details are not published publicly.
How we use information
We use information to provide the Site, qualify and route enquiries, operate partner accounts, prevent fraud and abuse, communicate service updates, improve marketplace quality, maintain audit records and comply with applicable obligations.
Sharing
We may share information with service providers that help us operate the platform, and with interior firms specifically matched to a homeowner request in accordance with the consent shown at submission. We do not publish homeowner contact details in the public directory.
Overseas processing
Some service providers may process or store information outside Singapore. Where personal data is transferred outside Singapore, SUMAI will take steps required by applicable law to ensure a standard of protection comparable to the protection under Singapore’s PDPA.
Retention and security
We retain information only while it is reasonably needed for service, operational, dispute, security or legal purposes, and then delete, anonymise or otherwise dispose of it as appropriate. We use access controls and other technical safeguards appropriate to the nature of the platform, while no internet service can guarantee absolute security.
Your choices
You may ask about access to, correction of or deletion of personal information, and you may withdraw consent with reasonable notice where applicable. Withdrawal may affect services that require the relevant information to operate. Signed-in homeowners can also use the account privacy tools to export or request deletion of their data.
Service communications and marketing
Messages required to operate a renovation request or partner account are service communications. Marketing consent, where requested, is separate from the contact-sharing consent needed to fulfil a renovation matching request.
